TESTIMONIALS

In addition to monetary compensation, you'll get the chance to advance your network and career in the industry. Listen to what these former interns have to say about our program:

" Interning at Bethpage was the best decision I could have made for my career. The size and scale of the operation is hard to match and the experience gained is immense. Being exposed to 5 golf courses of all conditioning intensities provided me effectively 5 summers experience in 1. Taking full advantage of the knowledge, skill and opportunity the people at Bethpage imparted on me, has made me a successful superintendent today. "

DAN ROGERS

Superintendent - Wykagyl Country Club

" Being an intern at Bethpage has taught me the many skills needed to be a superintendent in today’s high demand golf world. I experienced a Long Island Open, two New York State Opens and the 2009 US Open during my intern years.  The amount of construction, tournament preparation and spray experience I gained was a great.  Taking the step to work at Bethpage is the best career move a young person in the industry today can make. "

ERIC NEWELL

Superintendent - Green Course at Bethpage

" A great sense of pride is created when you come down the main drive and see golfers sleeping in their cars so they can obtain a tee time to play the course you helped maintain.  There is no place like Bethpage State Park.  No day is ever the same as the one before.  The staff relies on the assistance of the interns, working to teach them something new on a daily basis.  The internship program at Bethpage gave me all the tools needed in order for a successful future as a Superintendent and has opened so many doors.  My career would not be what it is today without the experience I had while interning at Bethpage.  I promise you will have no regrets at summers end. "

PATRICK RYAN

Superintendent - Sands Point Golf Club

" Bethpage State Park, as everyone knows, is a very special place. Between the "WARNING" sign, people sleeping in the cars to play the Black Course, and hosting PGA events at one of the most difficult golf courses on the planet, you can't really ask for a better place to intern. I will never forget driving through the night from North Dakota to Bethpage, arriving at 4:30 in the morning, and literally seeing guys who arrived before me just to try and play the Black Course, it really is something special. As a recent intern at Bethpage I am confident in saying I use what I learned at Bethpage every day in my current role as an assistant superintendent. Just like anywhere, you get out of your internship from what you put in, but at Bethpage they make it extremely easy to take something out of it and to learn something every day. The amount of knowledge in one operation is something nowhere else can offer. Use everything to your advantage, ask too many questions, observe how the superintendents each handle different situations, and put the effort in to learn something new every single day at Bethpage State Park, you will not regret it."
